Our Founders
Dr. Evan Propst, MD, MSc, FRCSC, is a Pediatric Otolaryngologist - Head & Neck Surgeon, The Hospital for Sick Children, and Full Professor, Department of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery, University of Toronto. He completed his Residency in Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery and MSc in the Surgeon Scientist Program/Clinician Investigator Program at the University of Toronto, and his Fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. Dr. Propst brings 22 years of experience on the ground as a health care professional. He has worked extensively in Canadian and US healthcare systems, including medical and surgical units in 12 Canadian hospitals and 6 US hospitals experienced in pediatric, adult, burns and veteran affairs, each with their own processes for connecting health care professionals, transporting patients, and caring for patients during their stay and following discharge.
Dr. Mattia Carraro, BSc, MASc, PhD, received his MASc and PhD from the Institute of Biomaterials and Biomedical Engineering and the Program in Neuroscience and Mental Health at the University of Toronto, working at The Hospital for Sick Children, Auditory Science Laboratory. During his studies, he developed novel devices and protocols to better image the inner ear, kidneys and brain. His devices have been used by Zeiss, Nikon, and several US, Canadian and Australian universities. He pursued his postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University, School of Medicine, where he further developed imaging strategies to refine the consistency of his results. He is CEO of Science Meets Design, providing customized software solutions for a myriad of industries in several countries. His team of programmers have created numerous successful cross-border solutions through Europe and North America. This new collaboration with Dr. Propst aims to introduce the many advances he has made in other sectors into the medical field.
